The spectacular new Mind Over Mirrors album is out today! After nearly three years of composing, rehearsing, building, and preparing, the spectacular Bellowing Sun is finally out in the world. The piece will also receive its live premiere at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago tonight and tomorrow, April 6–7.
Uproxx has premiered a new video for “Matchstick Grip,” filmed by Julia Dratel at MCA Chicago and featuring extensive footage of the band performing beneath the monumental zoetrope that was conceived and built in tandem with the writing and arranging of the music.
On the heels of SXSW, where The Weather Station was named one of “17 Acts That Stood Out” by the New York Times and one “30 Best Artists We Saw” by Rolling Stone, The Weather Station kick off an international headline tour and share the new video for “Impossible,” shot and edited by Tamara Lindeman and Colin Medley. As Lindeman describes it, “This was one of these late night, half asleep ideas. A sort of child-like play on free will.”
The MCA Chicago has released a short film about the process of creating Mind Over Mirrors’ Bellowing Sun performances. The initial run of two performances has sold out, and a 3rd performance has been added at 10 pm CST on Friday, April 6th.
