“Both serenity and storminess infuse the songs that Tamara Lindeman, from Toronto, writes as the Weather Station. Her band’s folk-rock is steeped in Joni Mitchell and Fairport Convention, weighing the textures of interwoven guitars; her lyrics reveal her interior monologues with a literary, lived-in sense of detail.” – New York Times

“Lindeman channeled Joni Mitchell in her rolling diction and effortless wordplay, with all of those carefully assembled pieces coming together with beautiful clarity.” – Rolling Stone

On the heels of SXSW, where The Weather Station was named one of “17 Acts That Stood Out” by the New York Times and one “30 Best Artists We Saw” by Rolling Stone, The Weather Station kick off a headline tour and share the new video for “Impossible.” The “Impossible” video was shot and edited by The Weather Station (aka Tamara Lindeman) and Colin Medley. As Lindeman describes it, “This was one of these late night, half asleep ideas. A sort of child-like play on free will. On the idea of habit, or how much one is controlled by unconscious ideas. On the idea of moving against–or moving with–these forces.” The Weather Station head out for a run of North American and international shows starting tomorrow—see below for all dates and ticket info.

The Weather Station has announced performances at several upcoming festivals including, Sasquatch!, Pickathon and the Newport Folk Festival. All dates are below and tickets are available at www.weatherstation.com.

Nominated for a 2018 Juno Award for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year, The Weather Station shows Lindeman “rocking out a little without ever losing intimacy or focus, or detracting from the precision and valence of the exceptional poetry with which she stocked her songs” (Uncut). The album amassed radiant write-ups from PitchforkEntertainment WeeklyFADERPaste, and plenty of other outlets. It was also included in dozens of year-end lists (StereogumThe New YorkerUproxx, and NPR’s All Songs Considered’s Listener’s Poll to name a few).
