Kenny Knight (1953 – 2022)

We’re deeply sorry to hear of the loss of Kenny Knight, known to the Paradise of Bachelors family for his 1980 release Crossroads

Born the fifth sibling to a musical bunch, Kenny’s fascination with the guitar began early on. At eleven years old, he became the proud owner of a flattop box guitar, and in that same year he joined a band called the 13th Street Exit and was already beginning to write his own songs.

Though most familiar to us as a songwriter, Kenny was many things: he was a band member, a mainstay in Denver’s local garage band scene, a Marine, an auto body painter, and before he passed, he ran a bichon frise rescue ranch with his wife, Pam. Kenny was a dog lover.

Although he explored many ways of life, Kenny recalled that “I cannot think of a time since I was eleven years old when a song was not running through my head.”

Kenny’s songs are timeless, and by those he will be remembered. Please take a moment to listen to Crossroads today.

“I’ve been shook up, stood up, and refused.
I’ve been put down, shoved round, and confused.
It won’t be long; I’m holding on.”

You can read more about Kenny’s life through his words in the liner notes for Crossroads. His music is available for streaming on all platforms and for purchase from Bandcamp and the PoB store.
